Burgas is the largest city in Southeast Bulgaria - birthplace and home of famous poets, composers, singers, actors, directors, artists, photographers and athletes. The Municipality of Burgas borders the Black Sea, surrounding the large Burgas Bay. Near the sea coast are the lakes Atanasovsko, Pomoriysko, Mandrensko and Burgasko (Vaya), which form the largest complex of coastal lakes in Bulgaria - unique with its exceptional biological diversity. From here passes the "Via Pontica" - one of the main routes for the migration of European migratory birds.
